- Earth, Wood and Fire, Ceramic Review Article by Giles Sutherland, 2014
No obvious connection with ceramics (except that everything is connected and perhaps the vagaries of being a woodfire potter may help foster a certain degree of resilience). Two academic papers on community resilience that resulted from my involvement with the EU funded TESS project researching community-led climate action in six countries across Europe:
- Operationalising a Framework for Understanding Community Resilience in Europe, published in Journal of Regional Environmental Change, 2018
- Community Resilience and Narratives of Community Empowerment in Scotland, published in Community Development Journal, 2018
And a report on research exploring the developing roles of key community sector organisations known as Community Anchors. Co-written for What Works Scotland, 2018 and a follow up article.
- Transforming communities? Exploring the roles of community anchor organisations in public service reform, local democracy, community resilience and social change
- Public value governance meets social commons: community anchor organisations as catalysts for public service reform and social change?, published in Local Government Studies, 2020
And a summary report of key findings, common ideas and themes that emerged from cross-sectoral interviews during the first phase of the Scottish Communities Climate Action Network’s ‘Climate Action Pioneer’s’ project between May and September 2019
