Join me for a ‘wild clay’ weekend at Pishwanton Wood near Gifford in East Lothian on 18-19th August. This experiential two-day course will give you an introduction to hand-building pots using locally dug clay and to the transformational power of fire. It’s that time of year again. This year, my one-weekend-only open studio, pre-Christmas selling exhibition will be on Saturday and Sunday, 2nd/3rd December. My studio at 27 High Street, Dunbar will be open both days from 10am to 4pm.
As well as a new selection of wood fired stoneware and porcelain pots from the anagama kiln, Ralph Curry will once more be selling some of his wonderful green-turned wooden bowls and there will be a selection of limited edition prints by renowned wildlife artists Darren Woodhead and Pascale Rentsch.
We cracked the kiln open this morning and the initial impression is of some promising results. We’ll delve further into the kiln later in the week.
