DUNBAR, EAST LOTHIAN \u2013 18\u201319 October 2025 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The town of Dunbar will come alive with creativity this October as the Dunbar Art Route welcomes art lovers, families, and visitors for a weekend of discovery, inspiration, and community connection. With 47 artists exhibiting across 29 venues, this free, self-guided art trail offers a rare opportunity to explore studios, homes, and unique exhibition spaces throughout the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stretching from the Dunbar Business Centre through the historic High Street, past the bustling Harbour, and extending westwards to Belhaven and West Barns, the Dunbar Art Route invites visitors to experience the full creative landscape of this vibrant coastal community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Organised by a registered charity, the Dunbar Art Route celebrates both emerging and established local talent working across a wide range of disciplines. Visitors can expect to encounter an exciting mix of 2D and 3D works including painting, mural art, photography, embroidery, ceramics, sculpture, graphic design \u2013 and even traditional toy making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cRooted in Dunbar\u2019s vibrant creative spirit, this year\u2019s event honours the legacy of the former Dunbar Art Root while bringing a fresh vision to the community,\u201d said the organisers. \u201cThe festival not only celebrates local artistic talent but also creates meaningful opportunities for engagement, education, and place-based pride.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Free workshops, including a hands-on ceramics class in collaboration with the local school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 A mixed media experience where participants use maps of Dunbar to create their own<\/p>\n\n\n\n artwork \u2013 fostering a deeper connection to place and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 A wide array of artworks for sale, directly supporting local artists and makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Dunbar Art Route is open to all and completely free to attend.
